What Dabbing Options Does Sutra Vape Offer?

Interested in getting in on the dab fun? Two Sutra devices each offer a unique, satisfying dabbing experience.

First is the DBR Pro Portable Concentrate Vaporizer, a favorite thanks to its 1,500mAh battery, smooth water filtration, and quick heating. It offers three temperature settings (420, 520, and 720 degrees F) so you can cover the full range, plus three e-nails to experiment with (quartz, ceramic, and titanium), each balancing flavor, potency, and cloud consistency differently. It works as both a home device and a portable dab machine, and comes in three colors.

For a more compact, hand held option, there is the Mini Vaporizer. Its sleek, low key all black design keeps on the go dabbing inconspicuous. Despite its smaller size, it packs a 1,600mAh battery, a max temperature of 430 degrees F, and a large stainless steel chamber. As a bonus, the Mini is dual use, so it vaporizes dry herb too, letting you switch things up with a single device.

With the basics covered, grab your favorite concentrate and settle in for a great session. To learn more about vaping and Sutra products, check out the rest of our postings on the Sutra Vaporizer Blog.

Frequently Asked Questions

Category Guide FAQs

Common questions related to this guide and how to apply the information when choosing your device.

What is dabbing?

Dabbing is heating concentrate materials until they vaporize, then inhaling that vapor. You could call it concentrate vaporizing, but most people say dabbing because of the globular, waxy nature of the materials. It has evolved from torch based setups to fully electronic devices like the DBR Pro and Mini Vaporizer.

What are dabs?

Dabs, or concentrates, are the condensed, sticky materials your device or rig vaporizes. There are many kinds, often from all natural sources, each with its own flavor and experience. Common names include concentrate, wax, shatter, badder, rosin, crumble, sugar, diamonds, oil, and distillate, and they all work with the same dabbing devices.

How do dabs work?

A dab device uses a small chamber that houses and superheats the concentrate, then directs the vapor down an air pathway to your mouth. The key is reaching the right heat: too low and the material will not vaporize, which is why you need either an electronic or a traditional rig.

Are dabs more powerful than smoking?

Concentrates are, as the name suggests, concentrated, so even a small amount can be more potent than smoking. Many people find dab rigs like the DBR Pro both smoother and stronger, and a single dab can be a real time saver when you are in a rush.

Can you overheat your dabs?

Yes. Dabbing uses intense temperatures (roughly 400 to 900 degrees F), and pushing past around 900 degrees F can scorch your concentrate, hurting flavor and giving harsh vapor. Electronic devices like Sutra's are preprogrammed to stay in the sweet spot, so overheating is not a concern. Overheating mainly happens with a torch, so never heat a nail too long and let it cool between dabs.

Can you underheat your dabs?

Yes. If your concentrate does not get enough heat it will not properly vaporize, wasting material. Like overheating, this mainly affects butane torch rigs. Electronic devices are designed so every temperature setting still gives an effective dab.

What is chaz?

Chaz is the term dabbers use for the stains left on nails, chambers, and ovens over time. This discoloration can taint flavor and reduce heating if left unchecked. It is an almost inevitable side effect of high heat and sticky concentrate, so do not worry if you notice it, just clean it.

How can you prevent chaz?

Clean after every hit and never put your rig away dirty. Staying on top of it keeps chaz from building up so you get consistent flavor and heating session after session.

What products can you use to clean your rig?

Purpose built tools make it easy. Cotton dab swabs with a pointed tip for crevices and a rounded tip for wiping handle precise cleaning, while pre soaked 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipes break down and remove leftover wax and are great for on the go.
